Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone attended the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 in Mumbai on May 1. The actress addressed several topics during her session with SRK, The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler, hosted by Karan Johar.
However, Deepika, who has recently embraced motherhood, reflected on the new chapter of her life and talked about becoming a mother.
During the session, the actress noted that as a new mom, she is currently navigating motherhood and said, “I am navigating what this new life as a mother would be like for me.”
Deepika was joined by Shah Rukh Khan for the session, who responded to the actress’ comment about navigating motherhood. King Khan said jokingly said, “The role she is going to play the best will be of mother now with Dua.”
Deepika also reflected on her school time and shared that she struggled to make friends. She said, “I am a shy person so it is difficult for me to make friends and open up. My friends from school, they keep me grounded.”
Further in the session, the actress also addressed the most discussed topic of the entertainment industry, insider and outsider. While reflecting on the same, the actress noted that she never felt like an outsider.

The actress, who was earlier wearing a monochromatic straight-cut kurta set, changed into a black outfit for the session.
The star-studded four-day event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which saw several A-list celebrities, including Hema Malini, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rajinikanth, Vicky Kaushal, Aamir Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, among others.
