Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked early Thursday morning at his residence in Bandra, leaving the city in shock. The attack, which involved the actor being stabbed six times, has raised serious concerns about security for high-profile individuals in Mumbai.
The incident occurred around 2:30 AM when an unidentified intruder entered Saif Ali Khan’s home and attacked him during a scuffle. The actor suffered six stab wounds, including two deep injuries, with one wound near his spine. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing surgery and is said to be out of danger.
Mumbai Police have revealed crucial details about the incident through CCTV footage from Saif Ali Khan’s building. According to sources, the footage does not show any unauthorized entry into the building within two hours before the attack.
This raises suspicion that the attacker might have entered the actor’s premises earlier and hid inside the building, waiting for the right moment to strike.
The lack of any visible entry raises questions about the security measures in place, as the building’s surveillance cameras should have captured anyone entering or exiting the premises.
Investigators now believe the intruder may have gained access to the building hours before the attack took place and remained hidden until he confronted the actor. The police are continuing to analyze the footage to identify the attacker and piece together the details of the crime.
The attack has prompted widespread outrage and concerns about the safety of celebrities in the city.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the law and order situation in
Mumbai, pointing to the attack on Saif Ali Khan as the latest in a series of high-profile incidents. "What a shame that Mumbai sees another high-profile attempt on life," she said, highlighting similar incidents involving other public figures, including veteran politician Baba Siddique and the firing outside actor Salman Khan's residence.
She further questioned the safety of ordinary citizens, asking, "If celebrities are not safe, then who in Mumbai is?" The MP emphasized the urgent need for stronger security measures in the city to protect both public figures and residents.
The investigation is ongoing, with the Mumbai Police reviewing more CCTV footage to track down the attacker. As Saif Ali Khan recovers, both the city and his fans are anxiously awaiting further updates.
Sniffer Dog squad has also reached Saif’s residence and Encounter specialist Daya Nayak has also arrived at the actor’s house for further investigation.
