Vishnu Manchu’s film Kannappa faces major trouble after hard drive of key footages goes missing

Vishnu Manchu’s big Telugu fantasy film Kannappa is now facing serious problems. Just weeks before the release, a very important hard drive containing key footage from the movie has gone missing. This unexpected incident is causing a major setback for the team.

According to a report in 123 Telugu, the missing hard drive had important scenes that were edited by a VFX company in Mumbai. It was being transported to the production office in South India. The drive first reached a person named Raghu at the producer’s office. Raghu then gave it to a woman named Charitha for safekeeping. But now, both Charitha and the hard drive are missing, which has caused panic and confusion.

The executive producer of Kannappa, Vijay Kumar, has filed a police complaint. An official investigation is currently underway to find the drive and the woman.

The movie features a big star cast including Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and more.

It is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and is now scheduled to release on June 27, 2025, after many delays. But with this major problem, the release could be pushed again.

Social media has also reacted strongly to the news. Some people made fun of the situation, saying that whoever took the hard drive might have actually helped everyone by stopping the movie from coming out. Others expressed concern about the missing footage and its impact on the film’s quality.

Interestingly, this is not the first time something like this has happened in the South Indian film industry. Last year, director Aishwarya Rajinikanth revealed that her film Lal Salaam also lost a hard drive during production. That incident caused them to lose 21 days of footage, which affected the final version of the movie.

For Kannappa, the team is now in damage control mode, hoping to recover the lost data quickly. With such a big star cast and high expectations, the missing hard drive could make or break the film.
