Kingdom OTT release sparks backlash

Vijay Deverakonda starrer Kingdom recently released on the OTT platform, and viewers are left disappointed. The theatrical release didn’t feature the hit song Hridayam Lopala, and fans were expecting to see the song in its digital release.

However, the Kingdom OTT release also didn’t feature the song, leaving the viewers highly disappointed. However, the Kingdom Netflix release also excluded an intense fight scene, a crucial action set-piece that the fans witnessed in theatres.

Although both fight scenes offered depth and entertainment, fans were let down. According to reports, these scenes were trimmed to preserve the flow and tempo for OTT viewers.

Fans have previously questioned the missing romantic track, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, which featured Vijay and Bhagyashri.

Producer Naga Vamsi addressed the issue in a previous press conference held in Hyderabad.

He questioned reporters about the song's potential placement. He made a joke about how many fans, particularly couples, were disappointed that they were unable to witness Vijay sharing a kiss.

Although the team made an effort to incorporate the song, Vamsi explained that it did not fit the overall intensity of the movie.

He said at the time, “I know a lot of people felt bad, especially lovers, probably because they wanted to see Vijay Deverakonda kiss, and they missed it.”

The producer added, “We tried a lot, but we couldn’t fit it into the intensity of the film overall. A lot of people are suggesting we should fit it in the second half of the film, where they feel it lags. But, the ending 20-minute banger only works because the film slows down there.”
