Viduthalai Part 2 OTT release

The highly anticipated Tamil crime action-thriller Viduthalai Part 2 will have its exclusive global streaming premiere on one of the most trusted OTT platform.

Directed by the acclaimed five-time National Award winner Vetri Maaran, the film boasts a stellar cast featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, Soori, Gautam Vasudev, Rajiv Menon, and Anurag Kashyap.

Following the success of the first part, this sequel promises an intense storyline filled with gripping action, powerful performances, and unexpected twists. Fans of Tamil cinema and action thrillers can expect a captivating experience.

Viduthalai Part 2 explores themes of resistance, systemic injustice, and the ethical dilemmas surrounding revolution.

Beginning January 19, viewers in India and across 240 countries and territories can stream both Viduthalai Part 1 and its sequel on Amazon Prime Video. The films will be available in Tamil, with Telugu dubbed versions also offered for a wider audience.

Viduthalai Part 2 continues immediately after the events of the first film, focusing on the aftermath of Perumal’s (Sethupathi) arrest. Through intense flashbacks, Perumal shares his life story with a group of officers while being moved to another location.

The film delves into his journey from a humble school teacher to a revolutionary leader, exploring the personal and ideological struggles that defined his path. His powerful, blood-stained narrative resonates with constable Kumaresan, leading him to face a moral dilemma between his duties and his principles.

Director Vetri Maaran said, “The journey of Viduthalai has been an incredibly special one for me. With Part 2, we’ve delved even deeper into the story, exploring the complexities of these characters and the world they inhabit. We aimed to showcase the moral and ideological struggles of people fighting for what they believe in while questioning the systemic forces that define their existence."

Vijay Sethupathi talked about being a part of the sequel, saying, “Working on Viduthalai has been a deeply transformative experience for me as an actor. Vaathiyar’s character is highly complex, a man who fights for the oppressed, who is committed to reminding the world how society was once different, and a leader who is fearless."

“Adding to it was Vetri Maaran’s commitment to the story and the film, which pushed me to dive deeper into the psyche of Vaathiyar. I hope audiences globally can feel the same emotional and ideological resonance that we experienced during its creation when parts 1 and 2 stream on Prime Video. This story might not be of a straight-cut hero, but the tale of his perseverance and courage deserves to be witnessed by the world," he continued.
