Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava avoids clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule; postpones release to February 2025

The makers of Vicky Kaushal's highly anticipated historical drama, Chhaava, have announced a new release date. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film, which was to clash with Allu Arjun's pan-India action entertainer Pushpa 2: The Rise, is now slated to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. According to the makers, this date holds particular significance as it precedes Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, which falls on February 19, 2025.

Shifting the film's release is a smart move to avoid clashing with Allu Arjun's magnum opus. Pushpa 2, which is also expected to draw massive audiences, has its own release date that could have overshadowed Chhaava. February 14, 2025 strategically positions Chhaava to maximise its audience reach and box office potential without splitting the audience's attention between two major releases.

The film boasts an impressive cast, with Vicky Kaushal taking on the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
