Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's much-awaited historical drama, Chhaava, has made a sensational debut at the box office, earning a staggering Rs 31 crore on its opening day, February 14, 2025. While the film continues to receive accolades for its gripping storyline and performances, attention has also turned to the impressive salaries of its star cast.

According to Koimoi reports, the actor was paid a staggering Rs 10 crore, which constitutes nearly seven percent of the film’s total budget. This figure matches his remuneration for Bad Newz but is notably lower than the Rs 12 crore he earned for URI: The Surgical Strike. Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale, received Rs 4 crore for her role.

One of the most talked-about aspects of Chhaava has been Akshaye Khanna's comparatively modest salary. The veteran actor, who made a come-back takes on the role of Aurangzeb, earned Rs 2.5 crore, which is significantly lower than Vicky’s pay.

This sum marks an increase from his Rs 2 crore fee for Drishyam 2, but fans have expressed disappointment, feeling that his performance in Chhaava deserved a more substantial paycheck.

Other supporting cast members also had differing salaries, with Ashutosh Rana reportedly receiving Rs 80 lakh for his role as Hambirrao Mohite, and Divya Dutta earning Rs 45 lakh for portraying Rajmata Soyarabai Bhosale.
