Unni Mukundan’s Instagram account hacked, actor warns fans against suspicious activity

Popular Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has fallen victim to a cyber-attack, with his official Instagram account, @iamunnimukundan, being compromised. The actor took to his verified Facebook page to inform his fans and followers about the hack, urging them to stay alert and avoid interacting with any content from the compromised profile.

In a heartfelt statement, Unni emphasized the seriousness of the situation: “IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. My official Instagram account @iamunnimukundan has been hacked. Any updates, DMs, stories, or content going out from that account are not from me — they are being posted by the hackers."

He issued a strong warning against engaging with any messages or content from the account, especially those containing suspicious links or requests for personal information. “Please do NOT engage, click on any suspicious links, or share personal information in response to anything from that account at this time,” the actor added.

Mukundan reassured fans that his team is actively working with cybersecurity professionals and relevant authorities to restore the account. He also promised that all legitimate updates about the situation would be posted only through trusted, verified platforms. “We’re working with the relevant teams to resolve the issue. I’ll keep you all posted through verified channels. Thanks for your support and caution,” he concluded, tagging the post with hashtags like #StaySafe and #InstagramHack.

Fans quickly rallied behind the actor, flooding his Facebook post with supportive comments and warnings. Several advised him to check his other social media and email accounts for possible breaches. One concerned follower commented, "Please check your other accounts very carefully. May you and all your accounts stay safe always.” Another wrote, “Dear UM, double-check your Facebook and email. They’re linked, and if one is compromised, the other could be at risk too.”

This incident highlights the growing threat of cybercrimes targeting public figures and influencers, with hackers often exploiting the trust followers place in celebrities.
