Shehnaaz Gill has finally addressed the long-standing buzz about her alleged family connection with Indian cricketer Shubman Gill. Fans have often speculated that the two might be related, given their shared surname and Punjabi roots. Shehnaaz has now responded with her trademark wit and charm.
During her recent appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Shehnaaz was asked directly whether she and the cricket star were related. The actor, known for her playful personality, laughed off the speculation and replied, “He must be my brother. He’s probably from that side, maybe from our side, from the Amritsar side. So when he trends, my trend also runs in between. It’s true, there must be some connection of brother and sister.”
Continuing in a lighthearted tone, Shehnaaz added, “I asked myself, and this is the answer I got — that we belong to the same side. So yes, there must be some connection. That’s good. He’s playing well. Yes, and he’s very lovely (bohot pyara hai).”
Shubman Gill continues to make headlines for his stellar performances on the cricket field. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly recently hailed the young cricketer, calling him “a perfect captain.”
In the same interview, Shehnaaz also recalled spending time at Salman Khan’s farmhouse during the shoot of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The actress revealed that what many imagine as a place of luxury is actually filled with laughter, simplicity, and a whole lot of outdoor fun.
Talking about her experience, Shehnaaz shared, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan … hum gaye the na sab, hum wahan rahe the ek do din ka stay kiya tha… bohot maze kiye wahan peh. Wahan peh kya, woh bikes waghera (ATVs) peh hum sab wahan gedi laga rahe the, idhar se udhar. Salman sir bhi berries todh rahe the.” (“We stayed there for a day or two and had a lot of fun. We were all riding ATVs around the farmhouse — and even Salman sir was plucking berries!”)
Shehnaaz is currently riding high on the success of her Punjabi film Ikk Kudi, directed by Amarjit Singh.
