A discussion inside the Bigg Boss 19 house has set social media on fire after Mridul Tiwari openly called Ahaan Panday’s debut film Saiyaara “bakwaas” and accused the makers of faking emotional fan reactions online.
It all started in the kitchen when Gaurav Khanna, Ashnoor Kaur, and Mridul were preparing breakfast together. Gaurav hummed the film’s title track and casually asked, “Maine abhi tak dekhi nahi hai yeh picture. Kaise hai?” referring to the much-talked-about romantic musical drama directed by Mohit Suri. He added, “Woh videos dekhne baad toh maine dekhi hi nahi. Log ro rahe hai, kapde phaad rahe hai, itni emotional hai kya film?”
Mridul laughed and shot back instantly, “Arey mujhe toh hasi aa rahi thi.” The conversation took a sharp turn when he went on to expose what he claimed was a publicity ploy by the film’s PR team. “Sab bakwaas. Instagram par logo ko kaha gaya ki tum jaake rona hai,” he said, implying that the viral reaction videos circulating online were orchestrated.
Expanding on his claim, Mridul added, “Main tumhe sachi batau ye tak bhi kaha gaya tha normal logo se, Instagram wale logo se ki tum jaake ye karna.” Gaurav, clearly stunned, responded, “Kya baat kar raha hai?” while Ashnoor jumped in, calling it a “PR stunt.”
The unexpected exchange became one of the episode’s biggest talking points, with viewers quickly clipping and sharing the conversation online. Within hours, hashtags like #MridulExposesPR and #SaiyaaraTruth began trending, dividing fans between those defending the film and those questioning the authenticity of its viral marketing.
Gaurav, still curious, asked, “But how’s the film?” Ashnoor, rinsing dishes, replied nonchalantly, “Decent hai. One-time watch. Ha, but aise nahi ki rula de and all.”
Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, starring debutant Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has been a massive box-office success. Produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhwani, the film was praised by critics and audiences alike, earning over Rs 570 crores worldwide. The romantic musical was lauded for its music and emotional depth, but Mridul’s remarks have now sparked a larger debate about the growing influence of paid PR and influencer marketing in the film industry.
Whether his claims hold any truth remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Mridul Tiwari has single-handedly turned a casual kitchen chat into one of Bigg Boss 19’s most talked-about controversies.
