Trolls mock Amitabh Bachchan over late-night posts, Big B writes "mere maran ki baat karne ke liye Dhanyawad"

Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor and one of the most enduring icons of Indian cinema, recently had a witty exchange with trolls who commented on his late-night social media activity. Known for his poetic posts and philosophical musings on X (formerly Twitter), Bachchan remains highly active online despite his age, often sharing updates tagged with post numbers — a habit that has become his trademark.

In the early hours of Monday, June 9, Big B posted a cryptic tweet that read, “T 5405 - Gadgets break...Longevity lasts!!!”. While many fans appreciated the sentiment, a few users took it as an opportunity to poke fun at the megastar's late-night habits.

One user commented, “Samay se so jaya karo, varna lambi umar bhi nahi tikegi”, implying that the 81-year-old actor should be sleeping on time for his health. Never one to back down from a sharp remark, Amitabh responded with his signature grace and sarcasm:
“Mere maran ki baat karne ke liye dhanyawaad, ishwar ki kripa.”
(“Thank you for talking about my death, by God’s grace.”)
Another user took a dig at the star with a film reference, writing,
“Andheri raaton mein Shahenshah kyun jaag rahe ho, so jaaiye ab umar ho gayi aapki.”
(“Why is Shahenshah awake in the dark of night, it's time for you to sleep — you’ve aged now.”)
Bachchan shut this troll down just as gracefully, saying,
“Ek din tumhari bhi umar ho jaayegi, ishwar ne chaaha.”
(“One day, you’ll grow old too, if God wills.”)
These epic comebacks earned praise from his fans, who applauded the actor for his wit, humility, and ability to handle criticism with class.

Professionally, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the Tamil action drama Vettaiyan (2024), starring opposite Rajinikanth. Directed by TJ Gnanavel and made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, the film underperformed at the Indian box office, earning Rs 147 crore domestically but still managing a respectable Rs 250 crore worldwide.

He also recently wrapped up hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, which aired from August 12, 2024, to March 11, 2025. He is expected to return for the next season later this year on Sony TV.

Despite his age, Bachchan shows no signs of slowing down. He has a busy lineup ahead with upcoming films like Section 84, Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2, and Brahmastra Part 2: Dev. His enduring charm, work ethic, and legendary comebacks continue to make him a beloved figure across generations.
