The Recording Academy has recently unveiled the schedule, new nominations categories and more for the 68th Annual Grammy. The upcoming Grammy ceremony will be held on Sun, February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the nominations for the annual award ceremony are scheduled to be announced on Friday, November 7, 2025. However, several new awards and changes to the awards process, effective immediately, have been announced.
The official social media account of The Recording Academy announces the new categories and pens in the caption, “Through the Recording Academy’s annual process of accepting proposals from the music creators and professionals that make up its membership body, several new changes have been made to the #GRAMMYs Awards process.”
The organisers introduced Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album categories, creating a buzz among the fans.
However, there are a few rules that have been changed. The Grammy has introduced Best Recording Package by combining two categories, Best Recording Package and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.
Meanwhile, the existing Best Country Album Category has been renamed Best Contemporary Country Album.
Meanwhile, the composers and lyricists/librettists from the Classical categories are now eligible for GRAMMY recognition alongside all other key creative personnel, including artists, producers, and engineers on winning albums.
The Best New Artist eligibility criteria now include artists previously nominated for Album Of The Year, even if their contribution was under 20% playing time, making them eligible for Best New Artist consideration.
Meanwhile, music released between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025, will be eligible for Grammy consideration for the 68th Grammy Awards. The Academy also revealed on their website that the first round of voting will run from October 3 through October 15. However, the final round of Grammy voting runs from December 12 to January 5, 2026.
