Comedian and actor Craig Robinson, who is best known for portraying warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin in the hit series The Office, has recently announced his retirement from comedy. He recently took to his social media to announce the news, leaving his fans shocked.
Craig shared a video on his Instagram and revealed that he is quitting the industry that made him a household name for “something bigger”.
Craig revealed in the video, “Just want you to hear it from me. I am quitting comedy, but not for nothing. It’s been an amazing run, and y’all been amazing and wonderful. But I’m following something bigger. So, you know, thank you so much. I love you, and stay tuned.”
However, he posted a follow-up video in which he admitted that he had faced some early challenges. He wrote, “Turns out having a dream and building a business with your friends are two VERY different things. I can’t go into detail just yet, but for real though any help would be huge.”
In the video, the actor also gave a shoutout and sought advice from her fans and fellow entrepreneurs. He said, “Big shoutout to all my small business owners. Hey, you guys got any advice for me while I’m trying to get my business afloat?”
