Vivek Agnihotri's film The Bengal Files was released in the theatres this Friday amid a series of controversies. However, the film saw a surge on its second day and first Saturday.
According to a trade website, The Bengal Files earned Rs 2.25 crore net in India, taking its total to Rs 4 crore. The film had an overall 29.91% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday with 15.11% morning shows, 29.20% afternoon, 35.08% evening and 40.23% night shows.
The film faced tough competition with Baaghi 4 and The Conjuring: Last Rites.
The film, which is the latest instalment in the director's trilogy, had a mediocre start to its first day at Rs 1.75 crore net in India. In contrast, on its first day of release in 2022, The Kashmir Files collected Rs 3.55 crore.

Despite no official censor objections, producer Pallavi Joshi took the matter to the next level by writing an open letter to the President of India, claiming an "unofficial ban."
