On a sudden note, shootings in the Telugu film industry have been put on hold as the TFI Employees' Federation has declared an indefinite strike beginning August 4, 2025. This is with regards to their demand for an increase of fares by 30%.
Filmmakers and producers are deeply concerned about this abrupt development, which is predicted to completely stop all Tollywood film and web series production.
The federation said in a press release today that the strike was primarily motivated by its long-standing demand for a 30 percent pay increase for all workers. The federation stressed that they took this extreme measure because, in spite of numerous appeals, the problem has not been resolved.
Importantly, the federation announced that producers will only be permitted to continue filming with its members if they accept the updated pay structure. It is anticipated that this action will have a direct effect on a variety of productions, ranging from high-profile movies and star vehicles to independent small-scale endeavors and ongoing web series.
This has delayed the shootings all of a sudden and many films are suddenly put on hold leading to a loss in production too.

The Telugu Film Producers Council is anticipated to negotiate with the federation after starting talks to evaluate the situation. The industry wants to settle the conflict as soon as possible to prevent more delays and financial losses because a number of upcoming movie releases are on tight schedules.
