Telugu actress Kalpika Ganesh stirs controversy

Kalpika Ganesh, a Telugu actress, recently had a traumatic birthday celebration at Prism Pub in Hyderabad's Gachibowli neighbourhood.

After a dispute with the pub staff over her desire to bring her own birthday cake, what was supposed to be a happy occasion turned sour.

According to Kalpika, tensions escalated when she was denied permission to bring in an outside cake for the celebration.

She is seen having a heated argument with the pub's management in a video that she later posted to Instagram. In response to the pub manager's explanation that free cakes are not available at the location, Kalpika notes that other establishments she has been to in the past have no problem offering free birthday cakes.

When the manager accused her of purposefully creating a disturbance, the situation became more heated.

The Instagram video also shows Kalpika crumpling and throwing away the bill in protest after feeling humiliated and refusing to pay it. Later, she filed a formal complaint against the pub employees and went to the police. Since then, the Gachibowli police have opened an investigation and filed a case.

While sharing the video online, Kalpika wrote, “One of the most worst management even on Google—all reviews suck coz of their inhumanity… police people from Gachibowli station. Mr K.narsimulu and Mr Yezas Baba. Have daughters and a wife and are serving the public for nuisance. They were even more worst than the people."

So far, Prism Pub has not released any official statement in response to the allegations.

After making her Telugu film debut in Prayanam (2009), Kalpika Ganesh has gone on to appear in a number of popular films, such as Sarocharu, My Dear Marthandam, Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma, HIT: The First Case, and Parole. In the movie Yashoda, in which Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the lead, she also played a supporting role.

Kalpika, a Hyderabad native, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Secunderabad, Telangana's Vivekananda College.
