In a world where Bollywood weddings are often marked by extravagant celebrations, Taapsee Pannu chose to take a different route, opting for a more intimate and personal affair. The actress quietly tied the knot with her long-time partner, Mathias Boe, in Udaipur in March last year, keeping the entire event a closely guarded secret.
There were no leaked photos, no grand announcements—just a peaceful celebration with their closest friends and family.
As the couple approaches their first wedding anniversary, a heartwarming detail about their wedding has recently come to light, reflecting Taapsee’s deep commitment to causes she believes in.
Instead of asking for typical wedding gifts, the couple made a special request to their guests: they encouraged them to contribute to Project Nanhi Kali, an initiative that Taapsee has supported for the past five years.
RJ Abhilash, a close friend of Taapsee, shared this touching gesture during a casual conversation, saying, “We all know the girls supported by Taapsee as Taapsee ke bacche because that’s how she introduces them … always excitedly sharing their milestones and celebrating them as her personal victories. From where I stand, Taapsee & Boe perhaps have access to the choicest of things across the globe. So I am glad that instead of a regular wedding gift, we were able to make the girls at Nanhi Kali feel included in their wedding celebrations and contribute our bit to their vision. Nothing else would have matched up!”
Taapsee’s continued support for Nanhi Kali was also recognised by Sheetal Mehta, Trustee and Executive Director of K.C. Mahindra Education Trust (the body behind Project Nanhi Kali). She praised the couple’s gesture, stating, “Taapsee and Mathias's commitment to girls' education with Project Nanhi Kali reflects the power of consistent, meaningful action. Since 2020, her support for 100 young girls has created ripples of change - representing not just access to quality education but the freedom to dream bigger. What makes Taapsee's involvement special is her understanding that real change happens when we show up, stay engaged, and keep believing in every girl's potential.”

Taapsee’s involvement with Nanhi Kali, which she has supported for over five years, continues to fund the education of 100 girls.
For someone who often shies away from the spotlight, this gesture speaks volumes about her values and the kind of person she is. Even a quiet wedding, it seems, can leave a lasting impact, proving that sometimes, meaningful actions speak louder than any grand celebration.
