Suriya 46 begins filming, makers call it the 'First Step Towards Celebration'

Actor Suriya has officially stepped into a new cinematic chapter with his upcoming film, Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri. A few weeks after launching the project with a traditional pooja, the film has now gone on floors. Marking the first collaboration between Suriya and Atluri, Suriya 46 promises to be a compelling blend of emotion, entertainment, and celebration.

Interestingly, actors Suriya and Mamitha Baiju were initially set to work together on director Bala's project, but both later opted out. Suriya 46 thus becomes their debut collaboration. Adding further star power to the film is veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who plays a pivotal role, making this film even more special.

The production house, Sithara Entertainments, recently unveiled a photo from the sets that subtly teases Suriya stepping forward, symbolizing the beginning of something significant. The caption read, "The first step towards celebration, emotion and entertainment #Suriya46 shoot begins!" A still from the sets, showing Suriya preparing for what appears to be an intense action scene, has already gone viral on social media, adding to the excitement.

Suriya 46 will also feature Radikaa Sarathkumar in a significant role. The film boasts a talented technical team, including editor Navin Nooli and cinematographer Nimish Ravi. Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, who is collaborating with Venky Atluri for the third time, following Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar. This film also marks GV Prakash’s second musical venture with Suriya, after the critically acclaimed Soorarai Pottru.

Mamitha Baiju, who made her Tamil debut with Rebel, also reunites with GV Prakash in this film. Produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, the film is being shot at a brisk pace and is expected to wrap up in three months.
The makers are aiming for a grand theatrical release in the summer of 2026, and expectations are already sky-high for what is shaping up to be a major milestone in Suriya’s illustrious career.
