Suniel Shetty takes a fearless stand on Kashmir

Following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, actor Suniel Shetty has made a strong plea to all citizens of the nation.

The veteran actor encouraged fellow Indians to choose the Kashmir Valley as their next vacation spot in a show of solidarity while speaking at the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2025 ceremony. His plea conveys a message of solidarity and resistance against terrorism.

Suniel Shetty emphasised that Kashmir has always been and will always remain an inseparable part of India. In his speech, he underlined the importance of unity and courage, stating, "For us, service to humanity is service to God. The Almighty will see everything and respond. Right now, we need to stay united as Indians. We must not fall into the trap of those who are trying to spread fear and hatred, but stay united. Unko dikhana hai ki Kashmir humara tha, humara hai, aur humesha humara hi rahega."

He encouraged citizens to support the region by spending their upcoming holidays there, asserting that doing so would send a clear message against fear and divisiveness. "Humein nagrik ki taraf se ek hi karna hai, humein yeh decide karna hai ki aaj se agli chutti jo humaari hogi, woh Kashmir mein hi hogi aur kahi nahi hogi. Unko yeh dikhana hai ki humein darr nahi hai, aur vakayi mein darr hai nahi," he added.

The actor also shared that he had proactively reached out to authorities, expressing his willingness to travel to Kashmir either as a tourist or in a professional capacity for shooting purposes. "Maine khud saamne se phone kar ke bola hai ki agar kal aapko lagta hai ki humein wahan aana hain, tourist ke haisiyat se ya artist ki haisiyat se hume wahan shooting karna hai ya ghoomne jaana hai, hum zaroor aayenge. Jo Kashmiri bacche hai, unme unki koi ghalti nahi hai," he said, emphasising the innocence of local youth caught in the crossfire of conflict.

Shetty’s heartfelt message stands as a powerful reminder of national unity and the need to support peaceful life in Kashmir through tourism and cultural engagement.
