Google's Year In Search 2024 list is out. This year, among the most searched movie was Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2. The film, which has been the highest-grossing Bollywood film so far (Baby John is yet to release), beat big releases like Kalki 2898 AD and Laapataa Ladies. The film did a lifetime box office business of Rs 627.02 crore.
Kalki 2898 AD, which starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in the lead, stood on the second spot of the list. The film did phenomenal business as well. The Nag Ashwin directorial collected over Rs 1100 crore worldwide.
Third on the list is the 2023 release 12th Fail. The film starred Vikrant Massey in the lead and he swept all the awards during the awards season earlier this year. The list also features films such as Laapataa Ladies, which is India’s official entry for the Oscars, and Malayalam films Manjummel Boys and Aavesham.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi was the most searched show in India. Released on Netflix this summer, the series made quite a buzz. The series starred Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh. The series also had Fardeen Khan and Shekhar Suman in pivotal roles.
Heermandi beat shows such as Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur, hit South Korean show Queen Of Tears and Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 18.
