Popular TV actor Tom Troupe, who was known for his roles in Star Trek, Murder, She Wrote, and Cheers, passed away on Sunday morning at his home in Beverly Hills. He was 97.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, his representatives confirmed his death. The veteran actor died after his birthday at his Beverly Hills home due to natural causes.
He made his acting debut on Broadway in 1957 as Peter van Daan in The Diary of Ann Frank, also starring Joseph Schildkraut, after serving in the Korean War. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his bravery.
Tom Troupe’s career spanned decades and had appeared in more than 75 popular series, including The Fugitive, Mission: Impossible, The Wild, Wild West, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Cagney & Lacey, CHiPs, Knots Landing, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., This Is the Life, Fraiser and Archie Bunker’s Place.
He had also appeared in some of the popular movies such as The Big Fisherman, The Devil’s Brigade, Kelly’s Heroes, Summer School, and My Own Private Idaho.

Tom Troupe’s credit also includes a national tour of Same Time, Next Year opposite Barbara Rush in the late 1970s. He has also co-written the single-character play The Diary of a Madman.
He was married to the late actress Carole Cook, who died in 2023 of heart failure at age 98.
Tom Troupe is survived by his son Christopher Troupe, his daughter-in-law Becky Coulter, his granddaughter Ashley Troupe and his nieces and nephews.
