William Shatner shares health update

Star Trek actor William Shatner was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering a sudden medical emergency on Wednesday afternoon, September 24. His agency denied the claims.

According to TMZ, the veteran actor reportedly had a problem with his blood sugar while at his Los Angeles home. The reports further claimed that he called the emergency medical services after he realised his health had been deteriorating.

However, William Shatner shared an update on his health on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. He debunked the hospitalisation rumours and tweeted, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!”

Paramedics arrived in an LAFD ambulance and took him to the nearby hospital, where he was declared ‘fine’. He has already returned to the hospital.

The veteran actor has been vocal about his health struggles. He revealed in March 2024 that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. He was undergoing treatment for it at the time.

For the unversed, William Shatner is known for portraying the iconic role of Captain Kirk on Star Trek.

Despite his advanced age, Shatner, 94, has been keeping a busy schedule lately, appearing in public and working on projects related to his Captain Kirk role.

Apart from his roles in TJ Hooker, Boston Legal and Miss Congeniality, William Shatner has led an incredibly active life in spite of his advanced age.
