Priyanka Chopra is back on the move, this time swapping Hyderabad’s bustling film sets for the wild beauty of Nairobi. After wrapping up an intense schedule for S.S. Rajamouli’s highly awaited SSMB29, which stars Mahesh Babu in the lead, the actress has now touched down in Kenya for the next leg of filming.
Priyanka gave fans a sneak peek into her journey late Tuesday night, sharing moments from her flight to Nairobi. Once on the ground, she wasted no time soaking in the atmosphere, heading straight out on a safari. From playful hyenas and majestic buffaloes to elegant ostriches and hippos lounging in the water, she shared glimpses of her “pride lands” adventure, letting followers tag along as she marvelled at the raw beauty of the outdoors.

The production’s move to Africa was first revealed last month, with reports confirming that the team would shoot some of the film’s most ambitious action and chase sequences across the dramatic landscapes. Excitement surrounding the project has only grown, especially after Rajamouli’s heartfelt birthday note to Mahesh Babu. Addressing the buzz, the filmmaker wrote:
“Dear film enthusiasts in India and across the globe, as well as Mahesh’s fans, it has been some time since we commenced filming, and we appreciate your enthusiasm to learn more about the movie. However, the narrative and scale of this film are so extensive that I believe simple images or press events cannot adequately convey it.
We are currently developing something to present the essence, richness, and immersive universe we are crafting. This will be revealed in November 2025, and we aim to make it a NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN presentation.”

For Priyanka, SSMB29 isn’t just another project — it marks her long-awaited return to Indian cinema after years of focusing on international ventures. Even as she balances her Hollywood actioner The Bluff and promotional duties for her OTT film Heads Of State, she has carved out space for Rajamouli’s magnum opus, adding to the global curiosity around the project.
Already billed as a massive pan-India spectacle, the film is being tracked as one of the biggest productions in the pipeline. While whispers suggest a release date of 25 March 2027, the team is keeping details tightly under wraps — only fuelling anticipation further.
