Srikanth Odela’s birthday wish for Chiranjeevi goes viral; director promises fans 'I will bring him back!'

Telugu cinema’s megastar Chiranjeevi turned 70 this week, and while wishes poured in from all corners, one wish stood out. Director Srikanth Odela, who is set to helm a film with the veteran, went public with a fiery promise that instantly lit up social media.

Calling Chiranjeevi the “T-Rex” of cinema, Odela told fans that he misses seeing the superstar on screen. “I will bring him back!” he declared, setting off a wave of excitement among loyal admirers.

His tweet read, “Jeevithakaalam aade cinema ra Chiranjeevi. Ippudu Chiranjeevi tho cinema ante! Jeevithakaalam gurthindipoyela teeyadam tappa inko option ledu.“(Chiranjeevi is a cinema that plays forever. And now, I have no choice but to make a film that’s immortal.)”

The director also dropped another surprise—his upcoming project is tentatively titled Chiru Odela. Promising it as a gift to himself and every Chiranjeevi fan, Odela described it as a “BLOOD PROMISE.” The film, launched last year by actor Nani, has already created buzz with its intense first poster showing blood-stained hands. As Odela put it, this one’s going to be a full-on action-packed ride.

Currently, the young filmmaker is busy shooting The Paradise with Nani, a violent action drama set in 1990s Secunderabad. But even while working on that, his mind seems to be fixed on his dream project with Chiranjeevi.

Meanwhile, the megastar has a packed lineup. He’ll be seen in Anil Ravipudi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, set for a Sankranthi 2026 release, Bobby Kolli’s untitled venture, and the much-anticipated Vishwambhara, expected in Summer 2026.

For now, though, it’s Srikanth Odela’s emotional, almost fanboyish promise that has taken center stage. And if his words are anything to go by, Chiru Odela might just be the film fans have been waiting decades for.
