Since its announcement, there has been a lot of excitement surrounding Spirit, the highly anticipated police drama starring Prabhas and helmed by Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Fans might have to wait a little while longer for the movie to start shooting, though, as there have been rumours of yet another postponement.
The makers had originally intended to start filming in September 2025, according to a recent report by Gulte. But that timeline now seems hazy. According to reports, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is opposed to scheduling conflicts with Prabhas's other projects and wants the actor to devote all of his attention to Spirit during production.
Prabhas is currently working on PrabhasHanu, a lavish period drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The shoot is not expected to conclude by September, according to sources. Prabhas has unfinished parts of The Raja Saab, including three songs and an action scene, which further prolongs the wait.
Spirit's release date may be delayed if Vanga doesn't back down from his demand for unbroken dates. It's crucial to remember that the producers have not yet made an official announcement about the shoot schedule.
Our Understanding of Spirit
Prabhas plays a ferocious police officer on a mission to topple an underworld empire in the action-packed drama Spirit. Following the success of Animal, this is Vanga's next directing endeavour, and it is building a lot of anticipation due to its compelling plot and nuanced characters. The film is said to be released in 9 languages.
Negotiations reportedly broke down when Deepika Padukone was first being considered for the female lead. Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri is stepping in, and this will be her first film in South India.

Prabhas is preparing for the Raja Saab in the meantime
Fans of Prabhas can anticipate his next film, The Raja Saab, while Spirit is still in limbo. The plot of this horror-comedy centres on a carefree man who tries to sell his family's estate for a profit but is thwarted by a ghost.
The film, which also features notable performances by Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar, is scheduled for a big theatrical release on December 5, 2025.
