Fans are ecstatic about the highly anticipated return of Ektaa Kapoor's classic drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to television.
Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, the original lead stars of the adored program, will return to their roles as Tulsi and Mihir.
Viewers have been anxiously anticipating more information since the initial teaser created a lot of buzz, most recently the announcement that this revival will be a limited series with a tight schedule.
According to an exclusive update from Tellychakkar, contrary to earlier rumours of a sprawling 150-episode run, the new season will consist of just 10 to 20 episodes.
According to the portal's sources, the limited format seeks to give fans a satisfying conclusion, something the 2008 abrupt end of the original series failed to provide.
The much-shared first promo, which premiered on 8 July, provides a poignant nod to the show’s legacy. In the clip, we see the familiar sight of the main door swinging open to reveal Tulsi tending to the sacred plant in the courtyard before announcing the show’s return. "The promo beautifully brings back the feeling of the original show; it’s emotional, yet promising," noted one fan on social media.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which aired from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008, became a cultural phenomenon. It included a remarkable ensemble cast that included Mandira Bedi, Apara Mehta, Hiten Tejwani, and Gauri Pradhan in addition to Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay. For eight long years, its complex family dynamics and dramatic arc kept viewers glued to their screens.

The revival will debut on Star Plus on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30 PM. Episodes will air on the channel according to its regular weekly schedule. The series, which is being produced by Ektaa Kapoor under the Balaji banner, aims to combine nostalgia with a new, condensed story that appeals to modern audiences.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is set to rekindle the unique bond that fans have treasured for more than 20 years—while also providing them with the long-awaited resolution—now that Tulsi and Mihir are back in their iconic roles and have only a few episodes left to tell their story.
