Smriti Irani to return as Tulsi

Twenty-five years ago, a woman in a maroon saree became the face of Indian television. Today, Tulsi Virani is back. The first look of Smriti Irani from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 is out, and it’s as powerful as ever.

Reflecting on the journey, Smriti said, “Kyunki isn’t just a show — it’s a shared memory… It still lives in our hearts. My gratitude to those who made the journey possible.”

The new season of the iconic soap has finally begun shooting from July 4. Fans were excited to spot Amar Upadhyay on the sets as well, reprising his role as Mihir. Dressed sharply in formal attire, Amar looked every bit the on-screen partner fans adored. He shared, “First day, first scene hua aur puraani yaadein taaza ho gayi.”

Smriti’s return to acting, after years of a successful political career, adds emotional weight to the show. For many, Tulsi represented more than just a character—she was a symbol of strength, tradition, and resilience. Her return promises to bring back not just a story, but an era.

Season 2 is expected to follow the emotional and family-driven narrative that made the original such a massive success. With Tulsi and Mihir once again sharing the screen, the anticipation for the storyline has doubled.

While the first season ruled television screens during its run, the revival taps into both nostalgia and a new generation of viewers who have only heard of the show's legacy. With modern production and seasoned actors, the makers aim to bridge that generational gap.

Smriti Irani’s return as Tulsi is more than casting—it’s a cultural moment, bringing the heartbeat of Indian television back to life.
