Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller Dhurandhar released in the theatres on December 5 with positive reviews from the critics and the audience. Besides Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna is also receiving praise for his performance.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi star and BJP leader Smriti Irani has also showered praise on the actor. She has recently taken to her Instagram Story and shared a clip from Akshaye Khanna’s film Tees Maar Khan, which has recently gone viral on social media.

Sharing the clip, Smriti Irani wrote, “When Akshaye Khanna has surpassed all expectations & you too want to yell..... de do Oscar#dhurandhar.”

Internet users have been rewatching Akshaye Khanna's 2010 film Tees Maar Khan ever since his dancing clip from Dhurandhar became viral. Akshaye Khanna, who portrayed an actor in the Farah Khan film, was approached for a movie by Akshay Kumar, a scam artist posing as a director. Kumar frequently referred to Khanna as a "superstar" and gave him Oscar fantasies.

This came after Smriti Irani complimented the film. She wrote, “As a storyteller @adityadharfilms is a craftsperson par excellence , as a research fiend even more so. Durandhar also stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in the lead roles.

Dhurandhar 2 will arrive in theatres on March 19, 2026.
