Shraddha Kapoor's LinkedIn account flagged as fake

For most of us, setting up a LinkedIn profile is a fairly straightforward affair. But for Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor, even this simple step has turned into an unexpected hurdle.

The actress, who is adored for her down-to-earth charm both on and off screen, recently revealed that her official LinkedIn account had been flagged as fake. Sharing her frustration with fans, Shraddha took to Instagram on Saturday to tag LinkedIn’s India handle, hoping the platform would step in and resolve the issue.

“Dear LinkedIn @linkedin_in, I’m not being able to use my own account because LinkedIn thinks it’s fake. Can someone please help me,” she wrote. Explaining further, she added: “Account is made, premium and verified but no one else can see it. Want to start sharing my entrepreneurial journey, getting an account itself has become a journey.”

Her words struck a chord with many, not just because she is a household name, but also because they highlight how even well-known personalities aren’t immune to the frustrations of everyday digital roadblocks.

Shraddha’s motivation to be on the platform goes beyond celebrity visibility. In 2022, she co-founded Palmonas, a contemporary jewellery brand where she also serves as brand ambassador. By joining LinkedIn, she had hoped to share her entrepreneurial journey and connect with a wider professional community — something many young business leaders strive to do.

Instead, she finds herself locked out of her own narrative, waiting for the platform to recognise her identity.

Meanwhile, her acting career continues to flourish. Her most recent outing, Stree 2, released on 15 August 2024 and became a box office hit. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film reunited her with Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, delivering another crowd-pleasing mix of humour and horror.

With the third part of the franchise already announced for 2027, her film career shows no signs of slowing down.

But for Shraddha, the bigger picture seems clear: she wants her professional life to be seen in its entirety — not just on the silver screen but also in the world of business.

For now, though, she’s simply asking for something very basic: to be able to use her own LinkedIn account.
