Shilpa Shirodkar pays tribute to her ‘inspiration’ Rajinikanth on his 50 years in cinema, writes "You rule the industry"

Shilpa Shirodkar starred with Rajinikanth in Hum

South superstar Rajinikanth is all set to mark 50 years in the cinema on August 15, and celebs are congratulating him for his milestone achievement. However, Shilpa Shirodkar has recently penned a tribute to Rajinikanth and reflected on working with him.

She took to her Instagram and shared a throwback photo from the set of the 1991 film Hum and calling him Rajinikanth for his ‘inspiration’.

Shilpa penned in the caption, “I had the privilege of working with Rajini Sir at the very beginning of my career, and I must say it’s a memory I will cherish forever.”

She expressed gratitude towards Rajinikanth for instilling values of hard work, discipline, and kindness. She penned, “Thank you, Rajini Sir, for instilling in me the values of hard work, discipline, and kindness, which I still hold very close to my heart. You are truly an inspiration to me and to all of us!”

She further noted, “It has been an honour to work alongside you. You rule the industry with your style and the magic you create on screen and we can't wait for what's more to come!”

She signed off her caption by writing, “Congratulations on completing 50 years in the industry. Indian cinema is blessed to have you. Love you always, Shilpa Shirodkar.”

Rajinikanth and Shilpa Shirodkar shared screen space in Hum, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead roles. The film revolves around Tiger, who vows to murder Bakhtawar, but Inspector Giridhar stops him. Later, things got complicated after Giridhar stole from Bakhtawar and killed his family, but he blames Tiger for it.

On the work front, Shilpa is gearing up to make her web series debut with the upcoming Shankar– The Revolutionary Man, which is a biopic on the life of Adi Shankaracharya. She will portray the role of Aramba, Adi Shankaracharya’s mother.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth recently starred in the highly anticipated action thriller, Coolie.
