Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, known for her lavish and devotional Ganpati celebrations every year, has announced that she will not be holding the festivities this year. The actress, who welcomes Lord Ganesha into her home annually with grandeur and deep faith, shared the update through her Instagram stories.
In her note, Shilpa expressed grief and explained the reason behind the decision. “Dear friends, With deep grief we regret to inform you, Due to a bereavement in the family, this year we will not be holding our Ganpati celebrations,” read her statement.

While bidding farewell to Bappa in her message, Shilpa captioned her post with the devotional chant: “Ganpati bappa morya, pudchyavarshi lav kar ya” (O Lord Ganesha, come back soon next year).
Over the years, Shilpa has been admired not just for her acting but also for the way she celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi, inviting fans and friends into her festive world filled with devotion, colour, and joy. Her announcement this year marks a rare pause in that cherished tradition, as she and her family dedicate time to mourning their personal loss.
On the professional front, Shilpa was last seen in Sukhee, directed by Sonal Joshi in her debut. The film is a lighthearted yet meaningful slice-of-life drama that follows the journey of Sukhpreet “Sukhee” Kalra, a 38-year-old Punjabi homemaker who rediscovers herself during a trip to Delhi for her high school reunion. Through a week of adventures, Sukhee rediscovers her spark, transitioning from a dutiful wife and mother to embracing her individuality as a woman.
Next, Shilpa will be seen in KD: The Devil, a Kannada action drama helmed by director Prem. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Nora Fatehi, and Reeshma Nanaiah.
