Actor and martial artist Shihan Hussaini, known for his role in Badri, passed away in Chennai after a brave battle with blood cancer.

Shihan Hussaini dies due to blood cancer

Actor, karate and archery expert Shihan Hussaini, known for her role in Badri passed away in the early hours of Tuesday in Chennai after a brave battle with blood cancer.

His family confirmed the news through a Facebook post, stating, "I'm very sad to inform that HU has left us. HU will be at the High Command, his residence at Besant Nagar until evening."

The public, his students, and family members will have the opportunity to pay tribute at his residence. His body will later be taken to Madurai for the final rites.

Hussaini is survived by his wife and daughter.

He had been documenting his cancer journey on social media, sharing regular updates with his followers.

His courageous posts prompted the Tamil Nadu government to offer financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh towards his treatment.

Just days before his passing, Hussaini made the selfless decision to donate his body for medical research, reflecting his dedication to giving back even in his final moments.

Hussaini began his acting career in 1986 with Kamal Haasan's Punnagai Mannan and went on to appear in several notable Tamil films, including Rajinikanth’s Velaikaran and Bloodstone. He also played the role of a karate coach in Vijay's Badri.

His more recent acting ventures included Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi and Chennai City Gangsters. Apart from his acting, Hussaini made notable appearances as a judge and presenter on various reality television shows, showcasing his versatility.

Beyond his work in film, Shihan Hussaini was a multi-talented individual, excelling in combat sports, sculpting, martial arts, and archery. His contributions to these fields left a lasting impact on both his students and the broader community.

Shihan Hussaini’s passing marks the end of a remarkable life, but his legacy as a dedicated artist, athlete, and mentor will continue to inspire many.
