Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, one of India's longest-running television shows, recently sparked rumours when reports surfaced claiming that Sharad Sankla, who plays the beloved character Abdul, had quit the show. The speculation began when the current storyline featured Abdul's sudden disappearance, leading fans to wonder if the actor had been replaced.
Addressing these rumors, Sharad Sankla spoke to ETimes and set the record straight. "No, the news is absolutely untrue. I am not going anywhere and am very much a part of the show," he confirmed. "The storyline in the show is such that my character is not there, but very soon Abdul will return. It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show, and I am known because of my character Abdul—it’s a big achievement. Why would I quit the show? I can't even think of quitting."

Sharad Sankla also expressed his deep appreciation for the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah team and its creator, Asit Kumarr Modi. "The production house Neela Telefilms is like a family to me and our Producer Asit Kumarr Modi is my college friend, there is no way I will ever quit the show. Jab tak show chalta rahega tab tak main uska hissa bana rahunga," he assured.
