Shanaya Kapoor shares precious moments with her late grandmother Nirmal Kapoor and family after her passing

Audio leaked as Kim Soo Hyun faces another allegation

The Kapoor family mourned the passing of their cherished matriarch on May 2, 2025. Nirmal Kapoor was the mother of actors Anil and Sanjay Kapoor as well as producer Boney Kapoor. The 90-year-old died of age-related health issues at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The whole Kapoor family came together in the days that followed to pay their respects to her memory with moving ceremonies and get-togethers.

Shanaya Kapoor shared a touching Instagram post featuring cherished memories with her late grandmother.

Captioned simply as “Dadi” with a red heart emoji, the post included a series of poignant photographs. The first image shows Shanaya twinning in green with Nirmal Kapoor, holding her hand lovingly.

Another picture is a nostalgic throwback from her childhood, where she is seen sitting on her grandmother’s lap.

The third photo captures a candid moment of Shanaya dining with cousins Anshula and Khushi alongside their grandmother.

The final image is a heartwarming full family portrait, including Arjun Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and several other members of the extended Kapoor family.

A prayer meet was organised on 5 May, drawing attendance from numerous family members and close friends. Following the ceremony, the younger generation, including Shanaya Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Anshula Kapoor, paid moving tributes on social media.

At the prayer meet, the grandchildren also unveiled a large framed portrait of Nirmal Kapoor, displayed on a wall adorned with green foliage, white and yellow flowers, and surrounded by glowing candles and fresh floral tributes—creating a serene and respectful atmosphere.

Sonam Kapoor, accompanied by her husband Anand Ahuja, visited the family home in Mumbai to pay her respects and console loved ones. The couple refrained from media interaction and quietly exited after their visit. Arjun Kapoor was photographed arriving in a white shirt and flared black trousers. Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor were also seen with their father, Boney Kapoor.

Other family members and well-wishers, including Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, as well as Bollywood celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Farah Khan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and Agastya Nanda, were present to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time.
