At Deva's promotional event in Delhi on Tuesday, Shahid Kapoor addressed comparisons between his character in the film and his intense, aggressive portrayal in Kabir Singh. When asked if Deva carries shades of Kabir Singh, Shahid firmly dismissed the notion, stating, “There is no Kabir Singh in Deva. Deva is real.”

He elaborated on the recurring comparisons to his past roles, explaining that before Kabir Singh, audiences often likened his rugged and intense characters to his performance as Tommy Singh in Udta Punjab.
