Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde are all set for the release of their much-anticipated film Deva, scheduled to hit theaters on January 31, 2025. As part of the film’s promotions, Shahid shared insights about the project, emphasizing that Deva is a high-energy mass entertainer with a unique essence, distinct from his previous blockbuster Kabir Singh.
During Deva's promotional event in Delhi on Tuesday, Shahid Kapoor was asked if his character in the film carries shades of Kabir Singh, given its intensity and aggression. In response, he shared his thoughts on the comparison. Shahid replied saying, " There is no Kabir Singh in Deva. Deva is real."
He further pointed out that before Kabir Singh, whenever he portrayed a rugged, intense character, audiences would often draw parallels with his role as Tommy Singh in Udta Punjab. He added that, more than Kabir Singh, he is frequently compared to his earlier performance in Udta Punjab.
Speaking in the same event, Shahid also talked about Deva and described it as a 'massy film'. "Whatever assets we have released be it the teaser, trailer and the song, we haven't revealed much of the plot because it is a thriller and we want the audience to experience the film completely in the theatres. This is my first action- thriller and I am very excited and thrilled to be a part of the film," he added.
