Sean 'Diddy' Combs, once accused by ex-girlfriend Virginia Gina Huynh of brutal abuse, is now receiving surprising support from her as he appeals for release on bail ahead of his October 3 sentencing. Huynh, who previously accused Combs of stomping on her stomach and subjecting her to prolonged abuse, has reversed her stance—now claiming he is “not a danger” to her or to the public.
Huynh, identified as “Victim-3” in the federal indictment against the music mogul, did not testify during his recent trial. Nevertheless, she has submitted a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian urging leniency and backing Diddy’s $50 million bail request.
“To my knowledge, [Combs] has not been violent for many years, and he has been committed to being a father first,” Huynh wrote, as reported by Page Six. She acknowledged the rocky nature of their relationship, stating, “We experienced ups and downs, and mistakes were made,” but emphasized that Diddy “was willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future.”
Huynh’s statement marks a notable departure from her 2019 interview with blogger Tasha K, in which she accused Diddy of repeated abuse during their five-year relationship. “He stomped on my stomach really hard,” she said at the time, claiming the blow “took the wind out of [her] breath.” She continued, “I couldn’t breathe. He kept hitting me. I was pleading with him, ‘Can you just stop? I can’t breathe.’” She further alleged that Diddy was “mentally, emotionally and physically” abusive, and that “everyone” around him enabled the behavior.
In her recent letter, however, Huynh portrayed a changed man. “He has made visible efforts to become a better person and to address the harm he had caused,” she said. She added that by the time they ended their relationship, Diddy had “embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behaviour.”

Huynh also noted that this is Combs' first criminal case and highlighted his cooperative attitude during the investigation. “He has substantial ties to his family and community, including children who depend on him for emotional and financial support,” she wrote. “I believe Mr Combs will adhere to all conditions imposed and will not jeopardise his freedom or the well-being of his family.”
Despite her letter, prosecutors are pushing back strongly against Diddy’s bail request, arguing that his sentence could be “substantially higher” than the four to five years initially estimated. He was recently acquitted of the most severe charges—racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking—but was convicted of two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. Each charge carries a maximum of 10 years in prison.
