Dipika Kakar issued a statement on her Instagram handle about her cancer diagnosis and later spoke about it in her vlog with husband Shoaib.

In the note Dipika wrote: “As you all are aware, the last few weeks have been quite difficult for us,” she wrote. “Walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach… and then finding out it’s a tennis ball-sized tumour in the liver, and then finding out that the tumour is second-stage malignant (cancerous), it has been one of the most difficult times we have seen and experienced.”

Despite the tough diagnosis, Dipika says she is determined and hopeful of defeating cancer. “I am all positive, determined to face this and walk out stronger, InshAllah! With my entire family being by my side and all the love and prayers pouring in from all of you, I will sail through this too,” she wrote, showing immense strength and resilience.

In her vlog too she spoke about how her son Ruhaan has understood certain things and realised that 'Mumma is not fine."

Dipika and Shoaib are parents to one-and-a-half-year-old Ruhaan. She is currently away from TV and focusing on her family life and vlogs.
