Actor and youth advocate Sanjana Sanghi is set to take an important step onto the global stage as she prepares to speak at Harvard University later this year.
The Dil Bechara actor has been invited to participate in the Women in Power Conference (WIPC) at the Harvard Kennedy School on April 18, 2026, joining a lineup of influential leaders and changemakers from around the world.
The 2026 edition of the conference carries the theme “Power Beyond the Podium: Turning Vision into Change.”
As part of the event, Sanjana Sanghi will headline a special Arts and Advocacy panel and also lead a “Lunch and Learn” session, where she will discuss how storytelling, culture and creative expression can influence advocacy, social change and public policy.
With this invitation, Sanjana Sanghi joins a notable list of Indian women who have previously taken part in the conference, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Smriti Irani and Karisma Kapoor. The event brings together leaders from various fields to explore how influence can be used to create meaningful impact.
Speaking about the opportunity, Sanjana Sanghi shared her excitement about visiting the Harvard Kennedy School campus. “As a young girl growing up in India, being told ‘you can’t’ was a more frequently murmured phrase than anything else. Turning that ‘you can’t’ into an ‘I will’ is a strength and conviction I only got courtesy of the powerful women in my life who granted me that permission. I see so many such women on WIPC’s speaker lineup; therefore, to be entrusted by Harvard with the honor of being in such incredible company at WIPC makes me jump with joy! As a highly studious girl through school and college, Harvard University, in my mind, has always been the pinnacle of greatness one I’ve always revered."
While many people know Sanjana Sanghi for her acting career, especially her performance in Dil Bechara, she has also been actively involved in social impact initiatives.
She serves as a UNDP India Youth Champion and works as an Education Advocate with Save the Children India, focusing on youth empowerment and access to education.
One of her recent achievements includes becoming the first Indian celebrity to partner with the Rockefeller Foundation. Alongside the foundation’s president Dr. Rajiv Shah, she has supported initiatives that aim to empower over 100,000 women-led enterprises in rural India, particularly through access to clean energy and economic opportunities.
At the Harvard conference, Sanjana Sanghi is expected to highlight how culture, creativity and storytelling can play a key role in advancing education, youth leadership and digital inclusion.
