Samay Raina has finally addressed the Ranveer Allahbadia controversy during his live performance at the Myer Horowitz Theatre in Edmonton, Canada.
One of the attendees, Shubham Dutta, shared his experience of the show on Facebook in a post titled "The Show Must Go On…", describing the emotional state of Raina as he took to the stage.
According to Dutta, Samay appeared visibly drained, his face showing the toll of the ongoing controversy. As he walked onto the stage, tears streamed down his face, reflecting the emotional weight of the situation. However, despite his evident distress, Raina took a deep breath, composed himself, and proceeded with the show, earning cheers from the audience.
Shubham Dutta, writing in Bangla, reflected on the powerful moment he witnessed. He explained, "I finally understood the true meaning of this phrase just a few hours ago when I attended this man’s live show! For the first time, I witnessed nearly seven hundred so-called ‘spoiled’ members of today’s generation screaming his name at the top of their lungs, while in the middle of them stood a professional stand-up comedian, tears streaming down his face right before starting the set."
Dutta’s words captured the stark contrast between Raina's vulnerability and his unwavering commitment to his craft.
During the show, an audience member made a comment about Raina, prompting him to address the controversy involving Ranveer Allahbadia.
When someone from the crowd made a mocking remark, Raina responded with his characteristic sharp wit. He remarked, “Iss show pe bahot mauka ayega, jahan aapko lag sakta hai ki main bahot funny kuch bol sakta hoon, par tab Beerbiceps ko yaad kar lena bhai (During this show, there will be many opportunities where you might feel that I could say something very funny, but remember BeerBiceps during such times).”
As the performance came to a close, Samay reflected on the recent events.
Despite the difficult circumstances, he managed to keep the audience laughing for a full two hours.
Ending the night on a poignant note, Raina said, “Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon (Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself).”
This powerful statement underscored Raina’s resilience and determination, demonstrating his ability to turn a challenging personal situation into a memorable moment of strength and humour for his audience.
The controvesy erupted when Ranveer Allahbadia, who was one of the guests on Samay Raina's show India Got Latent said a remark about parents and sex. Ranveer asked a would you rather question to one of the participant and said, "Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
