The security surrounding Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra has reached unprecedented levels following the recent murder of politician Baba Siddique and threats from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
In response to these threats, over 60 plainclothes officers have been deployed around the Bandstand and near Galaxy Apartments, maintaining a constant watch to ensure the actor's safety.
The heightened security measures come after an incident in April when shooters linked to the Bishnoi gang attacked the vicinity of Salman’s residence, despite existing security protocols. The police presence now resembles that of a military operation, with officers stationed at various strategic points and checkpoints set up to monitor any suspicious activity.
Comprehensive Security Measures
To bolster the safety of the actor, Mumbai Police have introduced several innovative security features, including AI-enabled high-resolution CCTV cameras that come equipped with facial recognition technology. These cameras are designed to alert authorities if an individual is spotted more than three times within a short time frame, indicating possible reconnaissance efforts. Alongside the camera systems, a dedicated command center operates around the clock to monitor the area.
As part of their standard operating procedures (SOPs), plainclothes officers are vigilant about any unusual movements, ensuring that no unauthorized gatherings occur. Visitors to the Galaxy Apartments are thoroughly screened, with their identities recorded and verified before entry. This has effectively eliminated unauthorized fans and individuals from gathering outside the building.
Salman’s personal security, classified as Y-plus, involves a team of eight to ten armed policemen who accompany him during his public appearances. His movements are meticulously coordinated with local police stations to secure areas prior to his arrival.
The Living Space of Salman Khan
Salman Khan has lived in Galaxy Apartments since childhood, primarily occupying a first-floor apartment with his parents, Salma and Salim Khan. The modestly designed residence features a well-known parapet window balcony, which has been a focal point during special occasions like Eid, where Salman would greet his fans. However, since the attack in April, this balcony remains mostly covered with blinds for additional security. The first floor also includes a bar area for entertaining guests, adorned with various artworks created by Salman himself.
Galaxy Apartments spans eight floors, with ample space to host visitors. In the past, the Khan family celebrated Ganpati at their home, a tradition later taken over by his sister, Arpita, after her marriage and subsequent move to Worli.
Security at Salman’s Panvel Farmhouse
In addition to the heightened security measures at Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel has also seen intensified patrols. Police have established blockades along the approach road, stopping visitors until they receive clearance from Salman’s staff. This, too, is supplemented by regular CCTV surveillance.

Residents of Galaxy Apartments have expressed their frustration over the ongoing security checks, with many guests complaining about being frisked or questioned upon visiting. There are also two shops located on the ground floor, which have voiced similar frustrations regarding the security measures.
Despite the increased security risks, sources indicate that Salman Khan has no intention of relocating from his long-time residence in Bandra to his farmhouse in Panvel. The actor remains committed to his home, even amid these challenges.
