Salman Khan, a superstar with an immense fan base, is no stranger to delivering blockbuster hits alongside top directors.

Recently, he made headlines for his potential collaboration with renowned director Atlee. However, the latest update reveals that this much-anticipated project has been put on hold due to a scheduling conflict with Rajinikanth.

Atlee has been in advanced discussions with Salman Khan for a high-budget, two-hero film, with Sun Pictures producing the project.

The film, which is set to be a reincarnation-based period drama, is said to be on a scale similar to Game of Thrones. However, the latest reports suggest the project has been delayed, sparking considerable speculation.

According to an industry source, the film, tentatively titled A6, was originally planned as a two-hero project, aiming to bring together two of the biggest names from both the North and South film industries.

The intention was to justify the massive Rs 650 crore budget, with Salman Khan already on board. Atlee and Sun Pictures had hoped to secure either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth for the second lead. Despite six months of negotiations, the plan fell through for multiple reasons.

The source further explained that while Kamal Haasan hesitated to play Salman Khan's father, Rajinikanth's busy schedule prevented him from joining the project.

Rajinikanth is currently committed to filming Coolie and Jailer 2 until 2026, and with additional projects in the pipeline, his dates are unavailable for the film. As a result, Atlee and Sun Pictures struggled to find a suitable replacement for the Tamil cinema giants.

Even efforts to bring international stars on board, including discussions with Sylvester Stallone, were unsuccessful due to financial hurdles. The team is now exploring further options, though the complexities of contracts and negotiations mean it could take longer than expected.
