Prabhas starrer Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. The film received positive reviews from the audience and critics alike. However, the success of the film has now led to the re-release.

Salaar was re-released in theatres on March 21 and has already broke multiple records at the box office. The film was originally released in December 2023.

According to the Sacnilk, Salaar has achieved a remarkable opening day collection of approximately Rs 3.18 crore net in India, marking the highest re-release debut for a Prabhas-starrer film.

However, Salaar's re-release has already surpassed the opening box office earnings of Tumbbad. The horror fantasy earned Rs 1.6 crore on Day 1 of its re-release.

The film's impressive advance booking numbers laid the groundwork for this strong start. Although the movie was expected to perform even better, its limited release in North India likely capped its potential.

Nonetheless, the numbers are impressive, grabbing a spot in one of the biggest openings for a re-release title in India in 2025.

The film was expected to become the highest-opening re-release, surpassing Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh. However, it ultimately fell short by a significant margin. Gabbar Singh's re-release garnered an impressive 6.77 crore gross on its first day at the Indian box office. Meanwhile, Salaar earned 52.73% less, despite its promising start.

The action-packed blockbuster notably earned approximately 618 crores worldwide, with 488 crores of that coming from India during its initial release. The film instantly became one of the top-grossing Indian films of 2023.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar features an ensemble cast including, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sriya Reddy and Shruti Haasan in the pivotal roles. For the unversed, the plot revolves around the tense relationship between two former friends who are now sworn enemies.

The makers of the film have already announced a sequel titled, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam.
