On January 16, actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times in an alleged robbery attempt. He is currently recovering at Lilavati Hospital. Contrary to earlier reports, Dr. Nitin Dange has confirmed that the actor will not be discharged today.

While various reports earlier stated that Saif Ali Khan will be discharged today, according to Times of India, Dr. Nitin Dange informed that although Saif is recovering well, he will be under observation for one more day before getting discharged.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police caught and arrested the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad on Sunday after they tracked him down near Thane through his digital payment transaction made that morning for buying parathas. Currently, he is in police custody for 5 days.

Authorities also revealed that the man was attempting to flee to Bangladesh when he was apprehended in Thane.

Shehzad was taken into custody and brought before the metropolitan magistrate court in Bandra, where legal proceedings commenced. When asked if he had any complaints against the police, he responded negatively. He was then escorted to the accused box at the rear of the courtroom.

As per latest reports, Mumbai Police plan to reconstruct the crime scene at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence over the next five days. The accused will likely be taken back to the Satguru Sharan building, where the attack occurred, to reenact the sequence of events. This will assist investigators in understanding the details of the incident. Multiple investigation teams have been formed to probe the case, with the accused facing charges under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
