Saif Ali Khan's team releases official statement: Actor is out of surgery; currently in recovery

Saif Ali Khan surgery over, the actor is recovering.

Saif Ali Khan's team has released a fresh statement about the actor's condition after the stabbing incident at his Bandra residence.

According to the statement, the actor is safe and has come out of the surgery. He is currently recovering.

"Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress.

All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident.

We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr Leena Jain and the team at Lilavati hospital.

Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time," read the statement.

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed 6 times and two of his wounds were deep. One was near the spine and another one on his left hand.

The doctors at Lilavati also issued statement saying that 'thankfully none of the stab wounds damaged his vital organs. Two of the six wounds are superficial.'

The actor's family is around him. He was rushed to Lilavati hospital at 3:30 am in the morning. His elder children Sara and Ibrahim are also by his side at the hospital.

His wife Kareena Kapoor was not at home at the time of the incident.

Crime branch officials are already at Saif's residence. An FIR has been filed against the intruder at Bandra Police Station.

Three of Saif's staff members are being questioned by Police in connection with the attack.
