A piece of the knife believed to be used in the stabbing incident involving actor Saif Ali Khan has been found at his Bandra home, according to Mumbai Police on Saturday.
The attack, which occurred earlier this week, resulted in significant injuries to the actor. Authorities are investigating the incident, with efforts to piece together the details of the assault and apprehend the assailant.
Saif, who was reportedly able to walk on his own despite heavy bleeding, is receiving treatment and is expected to recover soon. The case has drawn widespread attention, prompting increased focus on safety measures for high-profile personalities.
The incident, which left Saif Ali Khan with stab wounds to his thoracic spine, took place when an intruder reportedly confronted the actor's maid in the early hours of Thursday. The attacker allegedly entered the residence.
Saif Ali Khan, attempting to intervene during the altercation, was attacked, resulting in a violent confrontation. He sustained significant injuries and was quickly rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital for medical attention.
The hospital administration has reported that Saif Ali Khan is recovering well and has been transferred from the ICU to a regular room. The surgery, which involved the removal of a 2.5-inch-long blade, was successful. While Saif is now "out of danger," medical staff are closely monitoring his condition.
In connection with the incident, Mumbai Police have formed 20 teams to intensify their search for the assailant. The authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning more than 30 individuals, including Saif Ali Khan's staff and those who were near his residence on the night of the attack.
Additionally, the actor's wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, provided her statement to the Bandra Police on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation.
