Saif Ali Khan's team and Kareena Kapoor issue statement after robbery bid at Bandra home, 'actor undergoing surgery'

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's team has issued a statement regarding the condition of the actor after he was injured in the robbery bid at his Bandra residence.

The statement said that the actor is currently undergoing treatment and is being operated upon at the Lilavati hospital. The statement further asked fans to be patient and that they will keep them updated.

"There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter We will keep you updated on the situation," read the statement.

Now his wife Kareena Kapoor has also issued a statement and said he was injured in his arm and is doing well.

"There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khans residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police is already doing their due investigations.Thank you all for your concern."

As per initial information, an unidentified person entered Saif Ali Khan's house and both of them had a scuffle. Some family members of the actor were present in the house at the time of the incident, an official said.

Saif Ali Khan was injured in knife attack by the intruder. He was taken to the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra and was reported to be out of danger, the official said.

After receiving information about the incident, the Bandra police reached the spot and launched an investigation, he said.
