Korean actor Kim Jong-kook who is known for portraying a character in Running Man, has officially tied the knot.
On September 5, the singer and variety show star secretly married his non-celebrity partner in an intimate ceremony held in Seoul.
As per an SBS Star report, the event was kept very private and it was attended only by close family and friends. Adding a special touch, Kim’s longtime friend and fellow entertainer Yoo Jae-suk took was the one who hosted his wedding.
Kim has always been very protective of his partner’s privacy, making it clear that she’s not from the entertainment world and that he doesn’t plan to introduce her to fans anytime soon. Details about the wedding, including the guest list and exact location, were kept under wraps, and it was noted that it was the couple’s desire to keep this special moment just for their inner circle.
The wedding came after Kim surprised fans with the news back on August 18, when he shared a handwritten letter on his fan cafe announcing his plans to get married. It was a heartfelt message, coming at a meaningful time as he celebrated 30 years since his debut in the industry.
He wrote, “I was prepared to write such a letter someday, but now that I’m actually writing it, I feel very nervous and tense. I am getting married. The wedding ceremony will be held quietly on a small scale.”

Yoo Jae-suk later revealed on Running Man that Kim had only asked him to be the emcee quite last-minute. Despite having other commitments, Yoo happily rearranged his schedule, saying, “I’ve never been asked to emcee a ceremony this last-minute,” showing just how much their friendship means.
