Suresh Gopi, actor turned politician, is back in the news for saying that RSS leader Sadanandan Master should take his place as Union Minister. He made it clear that he wants to quit politics.

At a reception in Kannur, Kerala, for Sadanandan Master, the Union Minister said that Master becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha was a big step forward for the BJP in the state.

Suresh Gopi also said that the CPM leaders in Kannur seemed worried about the news because they thought it could lead to more BJP representatives from a region that has always been ruled by the Left.

Gopi made a statement that got everyone's attention.

"I mean this with all my heart: Sadanandan Master should be made a Union Minister after you get rid of me." I think this would mark a new chapter in the political history of Kerala.
