Global icon Priyanka Chopra and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu are collaborating for the highly anticipated SS Rajamouli’s tentatively titled film SSMB29 or Globe Trotter.
The duo have been filming the project at different locations.
However, the latest report suggests that Priyanka and Mahesh will have a dance number featuring them.
According to India Today, a source close to the project has confirmed that the makers are considering adding a dance number featuring Priyanka and Mahesh Babu.
The source shared, “It’s something that has come up in creative discussions.”
“Rajamouli wants every element in the film to serve the story. The idea of a special dance number with Priyanka and Mahesh is being explored, but it will only move ahead if it fits tonally with the film’s vision,” added the insider.
Rajamouli and his core group have been working on a celebratory song that combines the energy of Indian folk music with a universal, cinematic appeal. If things go well then it would be Priyanka and Mahesh Babu's first on-screen dance partnership.
The source close to the production further told the outlet, “Nothing has been locked yet. Rajamouli is very particular that songs in his films are not just visual spectacles but story-driven moments. The concept is being developed, and if it aligns creatively, we could see Priyanka and Mahesh garu in something truly unique.”
Additionally, the source suggested that preliminary discussions involve choreographer Raju Sundaram and composer M.M. Keeravani.
“The number, if greenlit, will be mounted on a grand scale. The idea is to celebrate culture and character without breaking the film’s pace,” added the source.
According to one source, "At the moment, it's just a suggestion on the table." Fans have been excited to see the exciting on-screen partnership of Priyanka and Mahesh.
SSMB29, a worldwide action-adventure film, is currently underway, influenced by the spirit of exploration. This marks the first time that Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu have collaborated on a project.
The upcoming film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the key role and is currently under production.
